Alternate Fall High School Season is ramping up

We are a little more than a month away from the alternate fall high school sports schedule. From February 22 through April 17, there will be quite a few "fall" high school matches taking place for teams who opted to partake in the "alternate fall season" in the WIAA. All of the boys volleyball programs in Dane County opted to participate in alternate fall schedule (as opposed to the traditional fall schedule). There are a total of 21 boys volleyball teams from Racine, Madison and the Fox Valley who will be competing this spring. Contact days for these high school teams are starting up right now.

Madison Inferno has said from Day 1 that we want to compliment the high school season as opposed to compete with it. After consultation with our parents, we are suspending our Thursday night practices, tournaments and Inferno Cup during this high school season time frame. We know some Clubs have chosen to compete with these WIAA events. We will not. We want our athletes to be able to represent both their high school and Madison Inferno together proudly.

We will continue to have our Sunday practices to keep the teams working together. We’ll also continue with our Sunday athlete development program. We feel strongly that both will help the boys grow for their high school team and their Club team preparing to compete in Nationals this summer.

Our mission since our inception has been to grow the sport of boys volleyball in Dane County. We feel this is the right thing to do.
